We had lived right across the road from this amazing church, and yet in our time here had not once visited inside, so that was definitely the first thing on today’s agenda.
Not only was this a really beautiful church inside, with some lovely stained glass windows, but as an added bonus, the choir was warming up for the Sunday Mass. What an amazing sound; sends chills and shivers right through me.
We dragged ourselves away and headed to the Stockbridge Farmers Market. We arrived a bit too early as they were still setting up so we grabbed some breakfast at The Pantry, including some obligatory haggis; haggis is really a very nice and tasty meal.
The farmers market was great: lots of craft, clothing, jewellery and of course amazing food such as paella, cheeses, hams, cakes, and um… squirrel.
Brunch was at our Edinburgh favourite, Frederick's where very importantly I grabbed that scone I missed last time, then the rest of the day was basically spent training it back to London.
This was a trip that passed by very quickly with the aid of the cheeses and dips from the farmers market, and that very delish whisky liqueur.
Check out day 9 in photos here.
